Semiconductor activity in Denmark

Demant operates one of Denmark's largest hearing aid ASIC team with 60+ chip engineers in Smørum. The Polaris platform comprises 3 custom chips totaling 154 million transistors on TSMC 28nm LP (migrated from 65nm). The team pioneered the first on-chip deep neural network in a hearing aid (Oticon More, 2021)

Oticon has maintained a TSMC partnership since 2005. The chip platform handles audio processing, Bluetooth, sensor fusion, user intent detection, and Dual AI processing for noise suppression and speech-clarity.
