Dimitrios Papageorgiou is Associate Professor of Nonlinear and Fault-Tolerant Control in the Automation and Control group at DTU Electro. His research covers nonlinear, adaptive and sliding-mode control, and estimation methods for fault diagnosis and system monitoring. These methods help autonomous and industrial systems detect abnormal behaviour and keep operating safely when something goes wrong. His work is applied to manufacturing systems, wind turbines, marine vessels and unmanned vehicles. He currently works on autonomous seamanship, supervisory control of autonomous vessels and learning-based estimation. Dimitrios holds a PhD in Automation and Control from DTU (2017), carried out in close collaboration with Siemens AG.
