Biografi
Bio:
Howell is an associate professor at the University of Southern Denmark. Her research investigates feeling, embodiment, and imagination as powerful ways of knowing for human, more-than-human, sustainable, and inclusive well-being with data and AI.
From 2021-2025, Howell directed the Future Feelings Lab as an assistant professor at Georgia Tech. This research has been funded by an NSF CAREER award, a Google TensorFlow Faculty Award, and other sources.
Howell completed her PhD at the School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley, where she was a member of the BioSENSE lab. Previously she worked as a human centered designer and engineer in Singapore, Morocco, and China, as well as at the MIT Media Lab, Intel Labs, Microsoft, and The Echo Nest, a small music data startup later bought by Spotify.
