AI for Sustainability
Beskrivelse

Generative AI is rapidly transforming software engineering, but its growing computational demands also raise important sustainability challenges. This talk explores how Generative AI can become part of the solution by supporting the design, optimization, and operation of energy-efficient software systems. Drawing on recent research in robotics software engineering, the presentation introduces AI-assisted approaches for analyzing software configurations, mining open-source knowledge, and recommending energy-aware architectural and runtime decisions. It also discusses how explainable AI and open knowledge infrastructures can enable trustworthy, transparent, and sustainable AI-assisted software engineering. The talk concludes by outlining future research directions toward Green AI and AI-driven sustainable software systems.
