Edouard Rolland is a PhD student at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, where he develops drone systems for environmental monitoring, with applications spanning volcanology and wildlife conservation. His current research is part of WildDrone, a cross-disciplinary European network of ecologists, roboticists, and computer vision experts developing autonomous drone systems for wildlife conservation. In this work, he translates ecologists' data-collection needs into multi-drone coordination strategies and implements them on commercial platforms, enabling science-ready drone swarms for real-world field campaigns.
