Modern conflicts are no longer fought solely on physical battlefields. Data, networks, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructures have become critical strategic assets. Lessons from Ukraine demonstrate that technological innovation and the ability to turn data into rapid operational decisions increasingly determine success in both defence and security. The same technologies are equally essential for protecting critical infrastructure, supply chains, and societal functions. This session explores how Danish universities are advancing research in cyber resilience, AI-enabled decision support, and next-generation digital defence technologies. The discussion will focus on how these capabilities can strengthen both civilian and military resilience and how closer collaboration between authorities, academia, and industry can accelerate the transition from research findings to operational impact.
