Danish breakthrough in green AI infrastructure: The supercomputer Bitten feeds waste heat into the district heating network
Beskrivelse
While the world debates AI's growing energy consumption, Denmark is taking a different path. The supercomputer BITTEN, established by Danfoss, HPE, and SDU in Sønderborg, was built with liquid cooling from day one and is designed to recover and reuse its waste heat as part of the local energy system. It is not just a technological powerhouse. It is concrete proof that computing power and sustainability need not be opposites. Danfoss CIO Sune Tornbo Baastrup and Professor Claudio Pica from SDU will talk about the project, how BITTEN is made accessible through UCloud, Denmark's national research cloud, and what this means for the infrastructure that Denmark's AI future will rest on.
