Name
From Idea to Agreement: How Fintech Startups Validate Their Business Through Partnerships
Description

This panel-format storytelling session looks at how startups and corporates validate ideas, run pilot projects, and build partnerships within a regulated industry — using fintech as an example. Regulated sectors come with clear barriers to early-stage collaboration, including compliance requirements, the need to build trust quickly, and differences in scale and risk appetite between startups and established corporates. Drawing on two startup cases from Copenhagen Fintech's Fintech Venture Track, together with the perspective of a corporate partner, the session follows the journey from initial idea to formal agreement. Along the way, it looks at both the obstacles the startups ran into and what made the partnerships work. By putting the startup and corporate perspectives side by side, the panel aims to show what it takes — legally, organizationally, and relationally — for early-stage partnerships in regulated industries to succeed or fall apart.
