AI & Computing Continuum: Building the Infrastructure for Intelligent Industry (DTU Industrial AI Program)
Beskrivelse

As AI becomes embedded across operations, the challenge is no longer just developing models—but delivering them reliably where and when they are needed. This session explores how the Computing Continuum — spanning high performance computing, cloud, edge, and embedded systems—is emerging as the backbone of modern industrial AI.

Rather than centralising intelligence, companies are moving toward distributed architectures where AI operates seamlessly across environments, from large scale data centres to devices and physical systems. This enables faster insights, lower latency, and greater robustness in real-world applications.

The session provides a strategic perspective on how infrastructure choices are becoming critical to unlocking the full value of AI—and how organisations can design systems that scale across complex, connected environments.

Key takeaway: Competitive advantage in AI increasingly depends on infrastructure with high performance computing as a key enabler. The Computing Continuum enables organisations to deploy AI at scale, in real time, and closer to where value is created.

This session is part of DTU's Industrial AI Program: From Artificial Intelligence to Industrial Intelligence at Digital Tech Summit 2026. Through a series of connected sessions, DTU brings together leading research and industry perspectives to explore how AI is reshaping products, processes, and operations across the industrial landscape.
