Jaco is a Professor of Computer Science at Aarhus University and member of the leadership of the Quantum Campus Aarhus. His research spans formal methods, model checking, and quantum software. Since 2022, he has focused on algorithms and tools for quantum circuit optimization, based on SAT solvers and classical planners. He is leading three projects on quantum software, one in the Danish Quantum Algorithms Academy, one with the NQCP quantum compilation satellite in Aarhus, and an IFD Grand Solutions project on optimal design automation for the quantum software stack. Previously, he held positions at the University of Twente and the CWI in Amsterdam.
