Dek Woolfson is Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Bristol, where he directs the Bristol BioDesign Institute and leads BrisEngBio, the UKRI-funded Centre for Engineering Biology. His research focuses on protein design at the interface of chemistry and biology, combining rational and computational methods to create novel protein structures with applications in synthetic biology and biotechnology. He is also a founder of Rosa Biotech.
