Saskia Lensink works as an expert on generative AI at the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), where she specializes in language and speech technologies. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from Leiden University, and is currently able to pursue her fascination for language technology in her role as the Product Manager of GPT-NL – a Dutch initiative dedicated to developing a sovereign and responsible European alternative to large language models that upholds privacy and copyright by design. 
Beyond GPT-NL, Saskia is involved in the HORIZON TrustLLM project, where she leads the development of use cases for sovereign European language models, with particular attention to Germanic languages. A frequent speaker at conferences and expert gatherings, Saskia shares insights into the potential and challenges of generative AI. Het work is guided by a commitment to advancing Europe’s digital sovereignty and helping to shape a strategic vision for AI that reflects European values and priorities.
