As global AI development accelerates, Europe faces a pivotal choice. If artificial general intelligence (AGI) breakthroughs happen elsewhere, Europe risks losing control over how the technology aligns with its democratic values and industrial priorities. But if the current AI race stabilizes, growing demand for sovereign, transparent, and trusted technologies - especially in defense and critical infrastructure - could give Europe the chance to define its own sustainable AI future.
