Before joining Novo Nordisk, he was a collaborative Ph.D. student and Postdoc at The IT University of Copenhagen and The Danish Business Authority. Since 2018, Per has researched and worked with responsible management and use of Artificial Intelligence. This includes designing tools and procedures for risk assessment and mitigation, quality control, and the evaluation of Artificial Intelligence, as well as conducting assessments and evaluations of AI systems pre- and post-deployment.

His work is published in leading Information Systems journals such as the Journal of the Association for Information Systems and MIS Quarterly Executive. He received the Vinton G. Cerf Award for the Best Student Authored Paper at the 16th International Conference on Design Science Research in Information Systems and Technology (DESRIST 2021).
