Mikkel Baun Kjærgaard is a professor in software engineering at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and the vice head of SDU Software Engineering. His research is focused on software engineering and data science with applications in ubiquitous computing and cyber-physical systems. He has contributed to new methods for human sensing and data analytics, as well as methods for optimizing software qualities such as performance, usability, and energy efficiency. His work has led to open-source projects and prototypes that have been commercialized. He is also a member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences' digital advisory board.
