Carbon cost of AI – impact on the maritime sector
Beskrivelse
Although AI facilitates many innovative technologies in the maritime sector, its increased use and deployment has a big environmental cost – having massive energy as well as carbon footprint. This session will firstly shed light on some of the direct and indirect computing-related impact caused by AI systems over its entire life cycle. Finally, some key advances and recommendations will be discussed to evaluate its impact in the maritime sector from both policy as well as sustainable technological perspective.
