This session will discuss how the concept of digital twins should be understood in a manufacturing and production setting. The nature of both model-driven and data-driven approaches will be briefly introduced, and the discussion will be supported by two illustrative real-case examples from well-known Danish production companies where parts of digital twins have been used in a manufacturing setting.
