Name
Software’s Energy-Efficiency - End-user Devices
Description

Running software is estimated today to consume 1372 TWh per year which is equivalent to the consumption of India –the third most energy consuming country in the world. We expect this number to increase by up to 55% as early as 2030. The main energy consumer in software are the end-user devices. They are estimated to consume 60% of the energy –in comparison data centres are estimated to consume 22%. In this talk we will look into possible reporting standards for end-user devices.
