KEYNOTE | Is transparent AI a mirage - and other AI ethical questions
Description

Transparency takes up a lot of space in the debate when AI is envisioned as decision support for everything from the doctor who diagnoses the patient to the judge who makes a legal decision, to the social worker who assesses the sick person's ability to work. Is transparency realistic or do we risk Kafkaesque situations where no one knows why a decision falls to one side or the other? How do we ensure that AI contributes to our democracy rather than creating inequality and how do we avoid the bias of an artificial intelligence that does not necessarily distinguish between truth and prejudice?

We are bringing  leading scholars and practitioners together to shed light to some of the big ethical questions.
