As AI and machine learning (ML) become increasingly integrated into every aspect of our lives, they promise to transform how people work, live, and play. Despite the rapid technological advancements in AI over the past decade, few transformative changes have been seen in the user experience (UX) of AI products.
This panel brings together academic researchers and industry-leading UX experts to discuss current best practices for designing the UX of AI and imagine future directions. We will explore how to work with ML as a design material in real-world settings and share strategies for navigating current challenges. We will also discuss how UX design can reinforce the place of human values—such as trust, agency, and ethics—at the center of AI products.
